If you boil down fandom to its basic element, it is a collective of free, public, and shared resources (the time and ability of fans) but there is no way to control that resource. Antis and himejoshi try in futility to redistribute it away from the problematic/yaoi and so too do I wish I could put the thumbscrews on the loathsome yet talented CxA creators for the glory of AxB. I'm sane enough to never resort to the shitflinging we see in modern times but I will not deny that I completely understand why antis/himes do what they do.

Does anyone have a beloved piece of media that is, like, objectively homoerotic, but you just can't be fujo about it? There's a book I've loved since childhood. Even though I'm way too old for it now, it still holds a very special place in my heart, and I reread it regularly. This book is VERY unintentionally homoerotic, to the point where some reviewers even complain about how gay the main character seems. I've even recommended it as a fujo-esque book to people because it's THAT GAY, and I know it would appeal to them. There's an entire paragraph where the protagonist details another character's ass, and that's not even the main source of homoeroticism in the story. I can acknowledge all of this, but I still can't bring myself to ship the characters or anything. I know why this is, and it's kind of personal, but it's just weird because normally, I'd be all over the dynamic portrayed in the book. It's the exact shit I love, and there are other stories with a similar dynamic where I DO ship the characters. This one is off-limits in my brain, though. Images spoilered because the third picture contains a major plot detail. The others do not contain spoilers if you want to see some funny reviews.

The show does a good job of capturing its appeal - just pure fluff romantic giddiness and minor school relationship drama. If you're not easily swayed by that or find it impossible to invest because of the character types/meta then it's not going to be much fun. I have no idea why the audience ended up as bad as it is, but I assume it's because it's so mainstream. There's no thread for dreams?
I had a dream of an old famicom JRPG with yaoi story. The uke was a hero on a journey to defeat the evil seme. It was early yaoi type story where the seme rapes the uke who secretly likes it. The seme had long blue hair and dressed like JRPG character from that era with huge shoulder pads and a cape. You went through some cave dungeon and the seme appeared to taunt the uke along the way. they released a remake of it and I watched some dude moralfag about it on youtube and thought I gotta play it, so I downloaded the original. Woke up and was a bit disappointed it doesn't actually exist.

Had one girl who'd always reply with shit talking about her body and it was the biggest turn off I've ever experienced, and I don't think she understood because I was okay with "ywn bend him over the kitchen counter and stick a cucumber up him, why live" kind of comments that
sound like POV self insertion, but are easily mob/other character proxy actions. If they're not fujominded they don't assume the same as me that a nondescript actor or character is doing it on my behalf, they don't realize you can't stomach literally them, a 3D entity.

"To say that straight men are heterosexual is only to say that they engage in sex (fucking exclusively with the other sex, i.e., women). All or almost all of that which pertains to love, most straight men reserve exclusively for other men. The people whom they admire, respect, adore, revere, honor, whom they imitate, idolize, and form profound attachments to, whom they are willing to teach and from whom they are willing to learn, and whose respect, admiration, recognition, honor, reverence and love they desire… those are, overwhelmingly, other men. In their relations with women, what passes for respect is kindness, generosity or paternalism; what passes for honor is removal to the pedestal. From women they want devotion, service and sex.

I read it for fujo reasons and was content with what I was given.

And when you bring this up, their response is that "it's because they have internalized misogyny and hate seeing healthy heterosexual relationships", already making a multifaceted issue into a crude simplification but also a circular argument claiming that yaoi inherently makes girls think they're hypersexual gay men. Correlation doesn't imply causation, it's like saying that allowing women to wear pants or short hair makes them transition into men. To me their hatred always came off as either complete ignorance regarding the genre (usually the offline boomers who see only cherrypicked rape scenes and out of context descriptions that more online radfems show them) or straight up homophobia in more ways than one i.e. the overall disgust of the portrayal of gay male relationships but *also* the disgust of women being gender-nonconforming which is often associated with homosexuality.

You know literally nothing about the dark-haired guy and even all we know about Varka has been delivered through vague tidbits from other characters, I get the appeal of being "the first" at the scene but this is literally what Mihoyo is banking on. They're not going to deliver because fujos will settle with the tiniest bit of pandering and base a hundred doujins on one headcanon pulled from thin air. They stuffed Nod-krai (the new upcoming region) full of sexy barely clad waifus and lolibait, Columbina (a new ethereal waifu that's going to be a Kiana Kaslana expy from Honkai Impact 3rd, their pet game) is going to be their main push for the entirety of 6.x, they're not going to give you anything with Varka and Flins besides tiny crumbs just like they did with Ororon and Ifa (the ship that fell completely flat on its ass because nobody cared and everyone liked capitano x ororon more). There will never be another HaiKaveh or KaeLuc in the game.
Overall I hate the tendency of hoyoverse fans making their own pre-release headcanons because they always get mad when the canon doesn't correspond to their expectations, this isn't just something the fujos do but literally everyone in the fandom. Everyone is so hooked on the games mihoyo put out because they're literally everywhere and there are no alternatives to migrate to unless you want to settle with a subpar predatory PNG collector so they desperately try to make it fulfill all their needs.

I'm more embarrassed that people keep playing genshit lmao. I do agree that it's annoying when they get mad that the new character they make headcanons for doesn't meet their expectations.
I don't understand why people who like lots of lore keep playing hoyo games (especially genshin) when they barely give the fans anything but vague tropes to work with. Genshit is so bland and barely any of the characters interact outside of the main story. Most of the fans don't even read the story(they're so dumb some of them think that Alice's husband is, is Varka or the traveler or that she just created Klee like a homunculus even though Klee and others have talked about her father). The fandom is purely lives on the delusional fumes of the fans making shit up. Also they're starting to go down the gooner path with recent designs. I say that Star rail is still the best for fujos. Some people are trying to sell ZZZ yaoi but I think they're idiots for being tricked so easily.
I also think female fans should execpt that hoyo only keeps males to filter out mentally ill moids and yuritards after they went insane after the Hi3rd considered making playable males. They don't really care about female fans.
>Columbina (a new ethereal waifu that's going to be a Kiana Kaslana expy from Honkai Impact 3rd, their pet game)I stopped playing genshin like 3 years ago.(but I like to check to see if anything has happened). They give a lot of content for Phainon/Mydei, Aventerine/Ratio, and Blade/DanHeng to add on if you wanna ship the male mc with anyone I think you have enough to work with. The rest of the ships are definitely copium, though.
Meanwhile in genshin the only thing I can think of is HaiKaveh. Kaeluc is a ship they're more hush-hush about because it pissed off the westerners.
>>10576The only ship they have to sell is Hugo and Lycaon. They say that in the story there's a canon yaoi fic of them? They do push the ship but only enough not to piss on the Belle/Yume and moid crowd.
The game is really stylish and smooth and has a 'bouncy' cartoony animation style. So a lot of people like it for that. But it's mostly a waifu game. I did a light/messy count of the roster and there are about 29 girls and 8 guys with two being a whole ass bear, not even furry-like like Lycaon, a brown bear and a panda. It's confirmed that there's one upcoming male and one speculated guy. However, there are at least 6 more girls who are speculated to come out in the next area. I don't know what zzz fujos see in the game lmao.
>I'm not going to play a gacha for shipping material.Yeah, I fully understand that. It just sucks that most of the fujos are there right now. I'm so bored that I'm having trouble even day dreaming. I miss it when the majority were on jrpgs (or the more niche card game yaoi).
No.10578

Nearly every guy you'd want to see fuck in that game simps for the MC too much to be shipped with each other (even the troubled past friends-to-enemies pair, Lycaon and Hugo imo) so when their plot relevance ends and the MC moves on to the next gaggle of banner characters it's not particularly compelling. Brainrot is brainrot and I do not doubt the authenticity of the ZZZ fujos' love of Lighter/Wise because he says some pretty romantically charged shit, but it's hard to let yourself get into it when you know how swiftly gachashit rosters inflate and how irrelevant everybody becomes as the story progresses.

What if you’re too shy to go to a convention?I already buy physical copies of BL manga, and I go to cons whenever I can if they're not too shitty, which they often are nowadays because of normies acting like parasites and tables for non professional artists costing way too much and it's getting expensive to visit these cons in general. I even went to cons in Japan twice now because going to the biggest con in my country around the same dates would have costed me an arm and a leg so why not spend a bit more money and go to Japan directly, meet artists directly and visit a few Mandarake stores at the same time? And Comic City events last just one day and are nothing but an artist alley and that's all I care about to begin with. It sucks so much so because it's expensive but the planning around it is also a pain in the ass as well, my days off depends on my job and how busy I am and I'm always busy when I want to travel the most because whether I'm busy depends on when schools are open or closed. Since I couldn't go to that big con in my country I also consider buying prints online but my post office sucks ass for reason I don't even want to detail so I'm not even sure I could get my parcels and bigger envelops at home. Buying online from the US is probably also a pain in the ass because of tariffs now and buying doujinshi or prints from Japanese artists will depends on if Mastercard or Visa cards are still accepted by these platforms. Now I won't be able to travel anywhere for more than a week for some time, not because of money but because I have to take care of sick family members so there's no way I can go back to Japan next year. Twitter is the best way for me to know what's up in terms of hobbies so if I can't even use that properly I'll be disappointed.
By the way, twitter is still checking if I'm old enough to see nsfw art or not, somehow. I'll see how long it takes but it all seem automated and it's happening to plenty of other users so I have no clue how long it can take.

>>10607>Also I'm American, but European nonnas can you just use a VPN to bypass region blocked content? It seems it's simply possible to go in the settings and change the country, but I haven't tried it yet because I'm worried it could cause me to lose my account somehow, like if twitter detects where I am and assume suspicious activities. Since apps don't really care about privacy settings anymore. I'm waiting a few days to see how long it takes to determine my age by their shitty AI, I already put my birth date in the settings and don't remember ever changing it but I don't know if this criteria will be taken into account. Basically it's wait and see for me. If nothing works I'll try using a VPN.
>but I don't know British lawIt's not just British law. The UK left the European union a few years ago but still tries to have similar laws concerning the internet and who has access to what data, usually regarding things like GDRP. I'm unable to see some websites and some tweets because of an EU law that's very similar to what's in the UK it seems. I'm not against preventing kids and teenagers from accessing NSFW websites and posts but I hate when these new rules are so badly implemented, and I hate how giving evidence of your age can be dangerous becausd of hackers stealing personal data, selling them, stealing people's identity or trying to scam everyone. Someone already tried to scam me after information about a hotel reservation was leaked recently, the scammers tried to use information to make their demands seem believable and utterly failed but with generative AI getting better and better and sensitive data being leaked every five seconds I'm very wary of this sort of things. It's somehow worse than tumblr's porn ban that let actual porn be posted in 2018 but normal pictures with a little too much beige or light orange was interpreted as porn by shitty bots and flagged as such.
>I could never go to cons since I've got too much social anxietyThat sucks. Personally making weeb friends in uni and going to my first cons with them helped me a lot. I don't think I had social anxiety but I was very sheltered and terrified of going outside except for school at the time and I was struggling at school with public speaking. The stress made me physically ill at times but that was a long time ago and all because of external circumstances. Going to cons and other events with friends helped a lot. However I know American cons are crazy expensive so I get it if you don't want to force yourself and see if you can still somewhat enjoy this type of events despite your anxiety.

Time will tell if we get absolutely tyrannical laws that doesn't even let you use a VPN tho, seeing as in China those are allowed it would be bleak.
>I'm reminded of the temperance movement right now and I'm wondering if there will be enough outrage the whole thing get's repealed, but I don't know British law.Not a Brit so I dunno how it'll be, but I saw that a petition for the parliament got over 100 000 signatures in less than 24 hours so I guess not a lot of people liked it. I think this is much more legit than change.org so here's the link to the petition
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/722903Also for American nonas, it seems like stuff are also getting banned in your country as well, only in red states but goddamn, everything is getting censored at the same time.

On the topic of doujins, what should I do in the case I purchased one but didn't enjoy the contents of whats in it?
I bought it off mandarake and it was a gamble based off the cover art but unfortunately the dynamic isn't what I was looking for plus I'm no longer into the series the DJ is based off. Its R18 so I don't think I'll be able to bring it to a con swap meet, would my only other option be ebay/selling it online? This is a far fetched option but would I be able to hand it in to a Mandarake retailer for donation even if I'm not a JP citizen? I'd really hate for someone's art to go to waste even if it's not my cup of tea, the last thing I'd want to do is throw it away.

>>10613>This is a far fetched option but would I be able to hand it in to a Mandarake retailer for donation even if I'm not a JP citizen? You can irl but idk about online. They will give you a tiny little bit of money though but it's better than nothing and someone else could buy it later and enjoy the doujinshi more than you did. If it's irl in Japan you need to fill a form and show your passport, they'll take time deciding how much they'll pay you for everything so you can browse the store in the meantime. You can ask the store to throw away what they don't want to buy as well. I sold doujinshi I didn't like and BL manga in Japanese I didn't need anymore after they were officially translated and published where I live.

I've never see women draw men with their cocks visible from under the pants.
If anything women HUMANIZE characters too much, the humanization of fictional characters to the point of doing things like non-sharing yume or wanting rights for female characters over real women etc
It's the opposite problem.

To be fair male and female BL creators are equally capable of gooning out and drawing sexualised men. Examples are honeyqp and all the other female BL creators on DLsite, and also most of the KR webtoon artists. IIRC you have that visible cock under pants in chapter 1 of Jinx.

>>10627>>10628Ok now I'm doubting myself. I know she's (???) listed as female on mangaupdates and always publishing djs of very typical yaoi ships, the kind that you can just tell gay men don't dabble in so i've automatically accepted her being female. I've dismissed the ads as side hustle. But if they're indeed a man i might need to re-evaluate my assessment of their oeuvre…

I've been blindsided before by artists I assumed were men because they drew muscles or body hair only to see them posting selfies on their twitter clearly female. I still think there is a different "gaze" though, like even with more bara-adjacent art by women you don't see stuff like the "bear" body type all that often.

Tbh, the franchise BL djs read as female for the most part. It's the original content(both BL and hentai) the one that makes me wonder. That and the onahole/vibrators ads lol.
Maybe she just likes drawing and selling all these comics/merch, who knows.

One of the weirdest things that I've witnessed while following artist accounts is that I remember an artist somewhere around 2018 that was drawing my OTP somewhat sporadically, pretty cute art, very typical fujo account really. Then somewhere in 2020, their account literally became nothing but a bot reposting japanese antivaxx news and japanese antivaxx propaganda, like having at least 2,000 RTs a day. They went from a very normal acc to almost a bot (And they weren't they'd still sometimes talk fujo stuff in the middle of antivaxx RTs) it was bizarre.
Another was an artist I very much liked and thought was normal ending up drawing big fat fucking scat out of nowhere (It's the artist that drew that infamous twst scat doujin) because you never expect a fujo to draw scat at all, let alone like it at all. Upon reading some of their tweets they'd say a lot that they wish they could be like men who draw scat porn and loli.
Anyway, sometimes I really think back on that. Nip fujos sometimes are weird

But I ended up pettily blocking one of those people because they turned out to ship my NOTP and reached 99% likelihood of being an anti. I happened to find out about the not having consumed canon thing at the same time so it was just the cherry on top.
