I’ll start, I’m a Henry x Will shipper. Rare crack pair yes, but I’ve been shipping it since season 2 when Henry was still shadow monster in the eyes of the people. Ever since Will mouth-birthed the demogorgon, I was hooked. Kept joking about canon mpreg and Will being tentacled with my sister and then season 5’s opening scene happened and I was speechless. I’m glad I wasn’t the only degenerate out there and someone wrote fanfic inspired by the scene. Also I’m grateful I got a little closure with the finale on Henry x Will, but I wish there was just a little something more on Will maybe feeling a little bad he couldn’t save Henry or something. I feel like it’s in his character to still have empathy for him even if Henry didn’t defect to the good side.

Aside from that, I never really interacted with the fandom because I didn’t start looking outside of this ship until recently and I saw that Steve x Eddie of all ships is the top ship. Some context for thread tourist nonnies unfamiliar with this ship. Eddie and Steve had a total of one shippy interaction, but only if you tilt your head and squint your eyes. An actual crack ship. Not that I’m one to judge, but the fact that it topped the charts is crazy. At least Henry and Will have a literal mental connection. Shipping Steve with another guy that isn’t Jonathan (or Dustin if your into mentor/mentee) is wild considering he only regularly interacts with them, Nancy, and Robin.

Otherwise I’m excited for the supposed new series in the works. I’m also hopefully going to watch the prequel play on broadway (if it’s playing next year) that goes over Henry’s past.

Meanwhile I can see zero chemistry between Mike and Will. Same goes for Nancy and John, Nancy and Steve, Mike and Eleven, Robin and her girlfriend. Canon pairings suck. Popular pairings do nothing for me. Apart from Dustin and his girlfriend, of course. They are so adorable.

I've been a Bylerfag since S2 came out [spoiler]unfortunately.[/spoiler] I'm a sucker for childhood friends. Pretty disappointed with how hard their friendship fell off with how close they were previously. Mike's writing suffered a lot in this season to begin with to the point he feels like a supporting character.
I didn't bother watching the finale because I disliked Volume 2 kek.

Fujo creativity and delusion fascinates me lol it's always Steve, too. Harringrove used to be pretty popular. I think Stonathan would've been up there if Charlie Heaton was more conventionally attractive.

Should be more popular, but people are always blinded by canon and Lucas x Max is probably the only relationship in the series that had decent writing barring Joyce and Hopper.

Glad I’m not the only one who wanted this. I loved their relationship in season 3 and wish it had continued into 4 and 5, but it kinda fizzled out. If they wanted people to stop shipping the canon lesbian with a male character, I guess they succeeded.

I was expecting Chrissy to be an important new character, but then she was just killed off after having such a fun scene with Eddie. I was so excited to see her storyline be something along the lines of having a pregnancy scare and the government trying to make another Henry/Eleven using her.

Byler definitely fell off around the end of season 4. I agree that Mike’s writing for most of season 5 was meh, but he went back to relevancy for the finale at least. If there was more indication that Mike was into Will, I’d have probably been into Byler. Mike being so focused on Eleven definitely made me less interested in Byler.

See I think I must be seeing something different because I find both Joe Keery and Charlie Heaton ugly, but I find Joe uglier than Charlie and always have. If I were to ship by attractiveness in the series, it’d be Billy with Jonathan (or older Will) as I find Eddie also kinda ugly. I think the hair might be doing a lot. Antonov was probably the hottest guy in the series and he fucking disappeared into irrelevancy.

Watched the finale tonight. Hop x Murray and some variation of Steve and Dustin. Though Robin spooked me by calling out Jonathan and Steve right as I was thinking about it. I feel like S5 had me thinking of hatesex crackship kind of dynamics more than anything. So much of the serious relationships were one on one talking heads to negotiate all the parts, but all these other interactions were exciting and part of the action instead of halting it. Also damn Steve you got a mobile love shack now when you turn up to see Dustin?

And did anyone else get weird mpreg vibes from Vecna at times? The way that lair turned into a giant vulva spider full of hymens makes me wonder if they intended that. Probably not intended was when they tried to woobify Henry near the end I thought they just made him look like a pathetic bottom. Get on your knees, Henry. No redemption, only submissive and breedable. It's what the mindflayer wanted, right.
