>>15369>on a whimSo that means you didn't see the insane FF13Versus development hell in real time? That's insane to me. I want to play FF15 too someday but the second hand copies I find are always day one editions, I heard the updates and DLCs make the game way better so I want to have the complete edition if possible.

>>15373FF15 is so funny to me because the first inkling of it I saw was in HIGH SCHOOL in a MAGAZINE then that shit dropped when I was like 30. I got the bundle on Steam for like $20 100 years ago but never got around to playing it. Despite being a fujo I really don't like "sausage fest" casts so that kind of keeps it in the very back of my backlog.

>>15373ayrt, I did actually! I was like 14 or 15 when the pics of ff13versus dropped and was interested but I was never into final fantasy so I never thought I'd play it. I grew up poor so owning consoles and playing videogames was always too expensive for me. fast forward to 2016 and by that time I had a stable income and was more into videogames so when ffxv got released I thought sure, I'll give it a try despite not knowing shit about final fantasy. I'm still not interested in any final fantasy to this day, kek.

>>15374Same here, the waiting time was ridiculous. Especially considering how frequently they released FF games before.
>Despite being a fujo I really don't like "sausage fest" casts so that kind of keeps it in the very back of my backlog.I like sausage fests but the designs and the gameplay kept me from playing it until recently. I am not a fan of those kpop idollike faces that newer FFs tend to have. I unironically find Ardyn a million times hotter than any of the four main dudes.
Big spoiler though: the game is kinda meh. Sadly. Had some cool concepts but it feels like playing two unfinished games and if you don't do the boring monster hunt quests you can probably finish this in like 10h. I hope 16 is better but tbh I am rather looking forward to play the VII remake and pray that we will get some side-line games like FF Origin and Tactics which were way better than any of their main games after FF9.

>>15390Literally the coward's way out tbh I have seen my fair share of gijinkas along the way of different things, but I think that stuff like this is better on-model. On-model is always better imo unless it's something way too abstract like fucking, countryhumans I guess.
I mean, I'm sure TF girlies wouldn't want the robots to stop being robots and just draw anime guy that happens to have colors that match the respective transformer, right? It's like that. This reminds me of what happened in osomatsu fandom a long while ago where you had on-model osomatsu art / porn or bishiefication of the guys and most bishiefications were kind of lame.
Also, I do think you do kiiinda have to be slightly furry to like Wile E. anyway

>>15392>I'm sure TF girlies wouldn't want the robots to stop being robots and just draw anime guy that happens to have colors that match the respective transformer, right? So funny thing. They do have canon human versions of themselves. Only a few artists draw them though. More art of the bishoujo versions. But they are a thing.
Personally, I think it takes out all the fun but there's a considerable 15% who make fanfiction for humanformer variants
No.15394
>>15392Idk tbh looney tunes is too far for me but transformers/mech style are sort of okay if its wire play, robots are fine, Grace and Rocky worked, I'm good with monsters but furries are impossible though I can read that one japanese author that did girl from the other side ig.
However snakes and spiders are ok.
I am a complicated fujo…
No.15395
>>15390They're right in thaf they would have been humanized by default. I've been in the Looney Tunes fandom a long time and it used to be rare to find on-model ship art. Though it's been longer than 10 years, maybe 15?
Thankfully were past that, occasional speculative ginjinka are cute and creative, but I want the characters I love to actually look like themselves in fanworks. Human AU fanfics are even worse, you might as well be writing about OCs.
>>15392>Also, I do think you do kiiinda have to be slightly furry to like Wile E. anywayIronically I loath furries because they're just as bad in the other direction. Turning animal characters into bipedal freaks or taking a random talking animal character and slapping a six pack on them. How hard is it to just draw the character with the features they actually have?
No.15396
>>15394>>15392But do you think her general conclusions are correct, that most people would draw gijinkas it weren't for "woke" or whatever?

No.15407
>>15396No, I'm in a discord server where they had to banish Loony Tunes yaoi to its own channel because it was 1000s of art link spam messages every day. A quarter of them were humanizing them as very specific native American tribe members, which made me recoil because I thought that'd be culturally insensitive, but they were really excited about drawing brown boys with particular nose shapes and niche patterned outfits. Nobody was talking about body types because Roadrunner is athletic and Wile is, y'know, "why your waist so thin, so other men can hold it?" memes. At the very least we all know Wile isn't eating properly.
No.15408
>>15396Idk man I was in a fandom where it was only when an alien character got anthropomorphized (and thus made it go from m/m to subtle RPF) did a bunch of people change their minds from "ewwww interspecies ship" to "hawt yaoiz!!!!" and I had to deal with an onslaught of that until I stopped giving a fuck about the movie. I think it depends on the fandom, and a lot of people who watched the AcMe movie also grew up with Looney Tunes so those specific designs hold more of a place in people's hearts than if they just created these characters two years ago. Which then yes I agree people would've made them human because their designs are kind of ugly, but also a good portion of the fanart is ironic / for the meme and keeping them as their OG designs adds to that.

I can only get into furry art if it's drawn in the cutesy style that you'll see from asian artists usually.

Am I just an extremely slow writer or am I right to suspect this one person in my fandom for being strangely fast making fics? They write chaptered fics every week, start up multiple fics sometimes in the same day (that later get continued after another 3 days or another week or so). All their works even in other fandoms are mostly AU, barely anything for the canon, the descriptions read like vague…I dunno how to call it, like if you replaced the names of the characters it would just be Any sort of story. They also only write for extremely popular fandoms (Alien Stage, Hazbin, Minecraft RPF) so it's weird that they landed on this extremely niche thing. Their socials are all links to fiverr, goodreads, promoting themselves as a writer, and their twitter just follows a bunch of other writers / blue checkmarks without a single trace of following fanartists or even RTing fanart or even talking about the fandoms they supposedly wrote for. Their entire gallery (and posts) is all about calling fics "Projects" or "Works" for "X-fandom" and it's all just statistics like "Finally finished writing my first Horror genre" or "I wrote x amount of words". I dunno, maybe they ARE a writer but just treat writing literally exactly that - as writing - but without the actual love or passion of a fandom? Just picking any popular thing, writing random thing that has nothing to do with it and slap character names, and hope people give you attention. Maybe they don't actually use AI but it just feels odd to me all the same.
No.15417
>>15416I'd be suspicious. There are definitely authors who can bang out huge fic in a short amount of time, but there are too many red flags in your description. IDK why, but even the art spam bots call them 'Projects' and not fanart or something.
No.15418
>>15416That is suspicious. It's probably somebody trying their luck at getting pulled-to-publish if one of their fics gets enough traction. I feel like people can write fandom agnostic slop at a quick pace but these days it's more likely AI is involved in the process.
No.15419
>>15416Don't be vague, name and shame them here so we can see!
Some writers can write at an inhuman pace, which I'm incredibly envious of, but honestly the fact that they are doing multi-chap AND switching fandoms is the biggest red flag to me. I feel like a lot of those big writers are able to write so fast because they're autistic about a particular fandom at the moment and are especially passionate.

Lowkey want to delete all my social media accounts, it's not like I talk to anyone anyway lol and I only used those accounts just to lurk and look at fanart, but if I delete them, I'll get bored from not being able to look at fanarts and end up creating/reviving the accounts again lol.

>>15443I'm German (=ESL) so I joined the lj era kind of late but it was very… cozy? and it felt more genuine because every fandom had its own community where people would promote their icons, new fanfic or fanart. friending memes were also great. it wasn't all about popularity and who was the biggest fan of anything. and back then shipping internationally wasn't so expensive so I could easily buy merch from someone in the US - PayPal was pretty new back then but it felt like it opened so many doors for us fans. semi related but cons also felt way different back then. of course there were pro cosplayers who had really elaborate cosplays and stuff but usually everyone at the con had an air of "over invested nerd" to them so connecting to new people was easy. online anime spaces and cons felt like true niches and a small respite from every day life where people thought you were a freak for being so invested in these chinese comics. I genuinely miss those days.

But when I next logged into pixiv, I saw that the favourites art has been deleted, it’s like me bookmarking the old art reminded the artist the old art has not been deleted yet. It’s depressing.
