This thread is totally dead and I thought about asking in the BL games thread but
How much would (You) care if a r-18 BL game didn't have penetrative sex for each character?
No.728
>>727honestly it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me, honestly unresolved sexual tension is a kink of mine and in a way it would add to the tension between the characters, i'm the type that always likes side characters/couples in bl anyway
No.729
>>727>Penetrative sexIs this implying that some characters would have still have sex, but not penetrative? Cause I wouldn't mind. I'm kinda tired of just anal and occasional oral sex in bl.
No.730
>>727I don't personally think the style of sex, or even lack of, matters as long as the characters are emotionally intimate.
No.731
>>729The plan was for there to be an option to choose top/bottom for each character because I want to give people more options, and seme protagonist (who is also shorter/younger) is rare, so I'm partially catering to my own taste as well.
But with non-penetrative stuff, choosing top/bottom would be more about who's in the more submissive role in the scene.

I delve in gamedev myself and I'm putting out a visual novel on June 18th with the premise of "what if something like Conan the Barbarian but gay??"
Anyway, we need more barbarians banging elves, evil sorcerers and so on.

We enjoyed it overall but it was way too short
No.788
>>742>>784It was really fun, but I think every game is more fun when you play in a group. An expansion would be good. Especially plantboy (best boy) dlc. In any case, we need more female gaze degeneracy in this world instead of hand-wringing trash.

Didn’t expect to find a game dev thread here, however dead it may be. Any of you looking for a composer? I spent the last 4 years studying classical composition and the last 2 years coping with the realization that the industry is an absolute meme and functionally obsolete outside of academia. Been wanting to get into game scoring instead. If anyone wants to collaborate lmk and I’ll drop my imageboard burner email.

One day I wanna make a game that’s basically Abaddon Princess of the Decay, but fully bl

I've been making a point-and-click/visual novel set in an abandoned rural place/forest with male characters the mc can encounter and become emotionally intimate with. It's my first ever game project so I'm sure it's shit but I don't really know who to share it with and where…
No.858
>>835>I don't really know who to share it with and where…itch.io does yaoi game jams every year so maybe you can release your game as a part of that project.

I have a game in mind i been working on. I have the gameplay part but i still cant get a good idea for the story. I only know i want it to be gay/ BL.
Doing the gameplay part with no idea on what the story is going to be is still fun to do on my free time

>>1259You could start off with one or two characters and then add on as you update the game, or have seasonal characters, like Neko Atsume. It sounds super cute!

>>1273Exploration and collecting clues/finding interactions with specific characters to finish a quest. Nothing to complex, it is pretty similar to Ace attorney but gay and you get different endings based on what you decide. You can move around a map where you can interact with objects. Originally, I wanted to make a more traditional visual novel, but I ended up focusing on making it more dynamic, so much so that I haven't even thought about the story and only have the concept for the protagonist, a simple-looking uke.
I dont know if ill ever finish it but is a fun hobby to keep me busy.

I'd like to work on a BL visual novel with other fujo friends! I can program in ren'py and make some music. I could even program someone else's idea, I like everything and I can't write well anyway. If anyone's interested, let me know!

>>1308Working with an all fujo dev team has always been my dream. I've had a few projects in the past I've tried to work on solo, but given the scope of just how much goes into a game, it always fizzled out.
I'll put a ton of work into writing a game, developing the characters to all have depth and be interesting, planning dialogue trees and routes, making sure plot doesn't fall to the wayside in favour of romance and vice versa, and will even spend weeks reading and researching involved topics to help the themes and settings feel more authentic.
But then after that, I need to teach myself other skills that don't come so naturally such as art, game design, programming, and music. I even went so far as to try and study architecture for a pixel rpg so the towns looked good. And it burns me out having to tackle every single aspect of the game all by myself instead of being able to just focus on a single role in the development.
I would absolutely love to join your girl's team, but my irl life is too busy at the moment to give me any time to make a noticeable impact. I still wish you the best regardless. If you make this work, you're living my dream.
