Momo and Ryoma. There was this hurt/comfort noncon fic I remember reading. That shit would not fly these days. I was super Hyoteibrained for a long time after that.

Finished third season of Free finally. Weakest so far and I really think the end of the last one was the perfect endcap to the series and felt conclusive. The best thing in 3 is seeing more of Kisumi and his younger brother and seeing how he's grown since the second season, everything in that subplot also felt like the natural evolution to Makoto's character. Unfortunately none of the new characters caught my eye besides Azuma, and I feel like there are way too many new faces to care about any of them on a deeper level since there's like 10 people competing for screentime on-top of our returning characters. For instance I don't know why you would spend so much time setting up the Swedish swimmer just for him to be in a single race. If it was a 24 episode show I'd get it, but for now It just feels like wasted screentime you could spend on the new boys swim club members. At best the new MCs feel like they are re-treading prior character conflicts, and at worse I would struggle to tell you their personality. It got to the point where I just kept for Haru, Rin, and Makoto to come back on screen because they are established characters I care about unlike these new guys the show failed to get me invested in.

I still have the OVAs and movies to watch maybe those will be better? For now I'm happy with the foray into Free.

S3 just had no drama or plot to carry it through. I've forgotten most of what was going on and I still remember the two previous seasons.

At the time when I watched I shipped minato and everyone, the twins, the cousins… But over time I found the ship I'm most fond of is Shuu/ryouhei. It's so cute.

I think it's a fine story with great animation and sound design. But I fear it fails to fit into the tropes that make sports anime so beloved. Most famous/mainstream sports anime tend to be shounen-like, or very heavy on the fujo pandering and sexy fanservice for women.
Tsurune does none of it… I mean there is some fujobait but it's more of a slice of life than a regular sports anime, in my opinion.
If you like slice of life, cute boys doing cute things, and grounded/down to earth narratives with slow pacing, then it's great. If you are looking for hype sports anime or half naked boys, not so much.
