I'd have enjoyed a bit of a slower pacing in FMAB, especially for the beginning of the show, I think some things could've had a stronger emotional impact that way. It was fine though. Also more Greedling ofc.

I watched both series for the first time recently. 2003 is definitely more to my taste, but Brotherhood is good too. I don’t really have many strong opinions on any ships yet. Most stuff I see is of Ed/Roy, and while I like a lot of the fan art, the ship itself doesn’t interest me that much.

If I had to choose a favorite ship I’d go with elricest. Codependent relationships like theirs make for good angst. There’s also the whole taboo of them committing human transmutation which I think theme-wise connects well to the taboo of them potentially being in a relationship if that makes sense.

I’m pretty new to the fandom so if anyone has any good fic recs please link them.

Tickets for the Tokyo exhibition opened today, and the site broke because there were too many people. Tons more merch has been added to the listings, including Draluc cookies, which has led to tweets about licking and swallowing your oshi. It's stupid but what I want most are the tiny prints of Bonnoki's sketches of the old blood trio and the guildmaster. That art is really neat. The Nagiri shirt is cool too, we need more serious Nagiri merch, but the text is embarrassing out of context ("World's Strongest Vampire").

I actually watched 3 for the first time a few months back and it's so many mixed feelings. I kind of hated most of Future and thought the killing game was weak and up until The fake out with Juuzou, even after that it didn't feel like a mystery you could actually solve which burned me as I really thought Andou was the mastermind of it. That being said Despair was ok, bit fanservicey over plot but I liked Ryouta as a character and thought his contribution to the Biggest Most Despair Inducing Event was a neat way to explain how things came to be all over the world. Plus it was neat to just see Hope's Peak actually as a school.

It's kind of funny I ~~have~~ had this moral high ground about not buying remasters of games I've already beaten, but then both P4 and SDR2 sucker punched me this year.

2 is my favorite so the alternate scenario intrigues me. Predicting Peko and Fuyu to swap places and Kazuichi to be an early game death possibly first victim/killer.

Rikiishi so far, although I'll be honest and say that it's been a long, long time since I read this thing, and am only now re-reading it. But they've got the 'fated opponent' down to pat, and I enjoy how they contrast each other, with Joe being hot-headed and Rikiishi being calm.

>Anime Joe or Manga Joe?
Anime Joe seems like a kinder dude, which I can't say I like. I understand why they'd want to tone him down, since the manga is as brutal as a manga about men beating the shit out of each other can be.

That said, anime Joe's VA is just perfect for the role. Very cocky in a very Japanese way, perfectly encapsulates parts of manga Joe that don't appear in the anime.

It's been a bit since I've seen it, but I remember enjoying the anime, haven't read the manga.

I wish I hadn't been spoiled on it, good luck avoiding spoilers, I think it'd have hit harder if I hadn't seen so many parodies before hand.

It still blows my mind that there was never a proper official english translation of the series because of Glenn fucking Danzig of all people. The only real silver lining about him having the publishing rights for the series was that we got some nice Simon Bisley art out of it. Spoilered for 3dpd but I just find the fact that Danzig is such a huge fan of Devilman that he got a massive tramp stamp funny as hell

Getting obsessed with big nosed men manga for the cuteness of a 70+ year old blood-draining tsundere villain was definitely not on my bingo card when I started Akagi in the late 00s but here we are.
I am glad that fkmt manga are popular enough to spawn spinoff series for the villains and that the fandoms for his big old hits are still alive, even 15 years later. Bless Fukumoto and his autism. That guy has a crazy talent for dramatic climaxes and infodumps that are actually interesting. Even the series that are solely about games never bore me for a second.

I admit I also find most of his characters very relatable, even though his series feel like they were written for middle aged men with midlife crises lmao

Welp, Thunderbolt fantasy is officially over. Just watched the finale movie. I know the time loop ending with Shou was already set up previously but it was still wild as hell that he's just confirmed to be the time traveling child of his two best friends. Also my fujo heart soared when he and Rin had that final banter moment as they descended into the demon realm. All around I had a great time. I'll miss my puppets but I know all good things must come to an end.

Never heard of this before but the premise sounds intriguing.

I just finished the Bridon arc and woah the gayness between these two is off the charts, might as well be a BL at this point. I love LG's 'jealous' moments and CXS taking care of him when he was sick.

Also, is the Bridon arc part of the current (S2) timeline or not? I thought for sure it's an earlier loop but I've seen other people saying it's the same loop and I'm completely lost. How many times has LG looped anyway? I feel like it's atleast 3 but definitely not more than 10.
